Did the ’97-’03 GT/GTP coupes come with or offer as an option trunk lid insulation?
I checked the parts list and found the “Insulator” for the hood, but nothing for the
    “Luggage Lid”.
None of the GP/GTPs at the auto wreckers have it.
Also I have a ’99 GT and I noticed that some of the parts for the ’99 are listed as:
    1st Design or 2nd Design.
I guess the assembly date must determine which is 1st or 2nd Design.
Does anyone know what those dates are?

    There is no insulation.

The one under the hood is more of a fire blanket, but they really arent even good at that.

On cold damp mornings when I open the trunk there is condensation on the underside of the trunk lid. My wife's '99 Monte (no insulation) also gets condensation on the trunk lid. My '00 Intrepid has insulation on the trunk lid and I don't think that it accumulates any condensation because the insulation never feels wet. There is also condensation on the top(outside) of the hood and trunks of all 3 cars.

if your trunk lid is sweating inside, you have a leak more then likely, strut towers are rusting out, or the trunk rubber seal maybe failing.

mines bone dry year round, and im in my trunk daily.

take the spare out and see if its dry in the hole there as well.
