If you wanted stock cat-back and quiet, you should have just went 3.4 w/ headers.
Why turbo or cam a car that you won't even let breathe from there on?
    Low - 340whp
High - KR and trans implosion.

Because a 3.4" is slow as balls. What's wrong with wanting a decently quick car that isn't loud and obnoxious and sounds like absolute ****

Meh, some people just want a little more umph than a S/C can give on the 3800. The turbo route is honestly the best and logical choice in that matter. Not only do you exceed the power when boost is comparable, but you leave yourself room to grow further than you could when it was S/C, if you change your mind down the road. Not everyone cares about squeezing every ounce of horsepower as some are content when they reach a certain level.

I am expressing my concern more for the sake of having to de-tune and stray away from the power that he's capable of but is restricting.

what you guys are forgetting is that this is to be Greg's daily driver, and i dont think he has any plans of running it full time on a all out tune/boost set up. i don't think hes gonna care about leaving 10 or 20 hp behind when he'll intentionally leave 40 or 50 or more behind.

he has another GP for going all out nuts on.

So then he should turbo that one...problem solved!
Unless he is opening the wallet to turbo both, in which case he should front me.

    Well my statement still stands.
Save the 2nd turbo fund $ for the all out build, you'll need it after multiple trans chains.
Leave the DD S/C, as it will be more daily driver friendly.

his plan was to turbo the other one as well, with a larger turbo. E85, all the goody's. it already has a rebuilt tranny in it. so thats a big plus.

How so? Removing the S/C and going turbo does not affect daily driving ability. I've been doing it for a year and a half now. The only difference is that my car finally grew a pair of balls.

you can have quiet exhaust with headers and a catback. stick in a good pair of mufflers and couple good resonators.

when i had my sentra se-r i had header, no cats, took out my downpipe resonator and left the APEXi WS2 catback resonator in. barely heard the exhaust until you gave it a decent amount of throttle.

i wouldnt mind picking up a couple WS2 mufflers and replace my loudmouth mufflers.

Just got back from my 500mile drive enjoying turbo spool and BOV all the way home. As for some of the comments.......long story short, I was able to get the turbo kit, ic kit, cam, and injectors for the exact same cost it would have taken me to go with 3.4, rockers, headers....I literally had all the parts to do the 3.4, rockers, headers and sold/traded everything for a full turbo kit. I got a great deal and the only downfall was that the turbo ended up having to be rebuilt which sucked but was expected going into it.

FYI after the drive it acts just like a totally stock vehicle...and is nice and quiet just like I wanted.

Andrew, I've got a Stattama kit with a T66 turbo waiting to go on the car that's in my sig....which does have a built trans in it.

As for all the transmission haters....yes running that much HP on the dyno is a risk. Car is going to be lock in gear and converter locked...most trans fails during the shift when there is the greatest shock load. On the dyno it should be fine....and if not I'm prepared to rebuild another trans (have 300m input shaft on the shelf waiting to go)

I think it will put down respectable numbers...I'm not looking to break into the top HP charts.
