Last week I dropped a set of L32 heads I picked up recently at a local machine shop to do a valve job, mild p & p, etc. Well this morning they called me to inform me that they magnafluxed the heads and one head is good and the other is cracked. They recommended not doing the work, and advised me to try and find another head. So does anyone know where I can find another L32 head for cheap? Rockauto sells re-manufactured heads, but it states the injector holes are in the head and supposedly they will work with any version 3800 from the years 97-08. I find this to be odd, because I thought the supercharged heads were different than the NA heads. Any suggestions as to what I do? The shop said they can still do the work if I want, however the cracked head may cause a compression leak. This is very disappointing, as I scored these heads for cheap and they supposedly only have 30,000 miles on them.

The crack is always between the valves of a cylinder. It's very common and you are correct Cam, many of us have them and don't know. However if you are doing it...do it right.

I checked with Erich, he only has non cracked L67's

Is his user name Erich? I couldn't find him.. At this point I wouldn't mind just picking up another set of heads even if they are L67 given I got my L32 heads for pretty cheap.
