I have a 92 Grand Prix that's starting very hard cold. It starts fine warm but when cold, takes too much cranking to get it running. I've read where pumping the gas pedal does no good with this vehicle and that it's either a fuel pump/filter issue OR perhaps something like a coolant sensor acting up. I don't know what the fuel pump pressure is but recently had the pump and filter replaced by a local reputable repair shop. I do on the other hand, have a red indicator that's ON, on my dash by the temp gauge that indicates something is up with the cooling system - just didn't pay too much attention to it because the gauge is fine. Once the engine is started, the car runs great and warm starts fine. It's just after it's set for a few hours or overnight when the constant cranking is necessary to get it running. I've been told that I should be able to hear this fuel pump running but I can't hear this one running anymore than I could the last but until the recent problem where I had the fuel pump replaced, it always started like a dream (just turn the key and it ran fine). Any ideas folks?
