Because I'm bawssss.
I know my GP's.
but in all seriousness. those badges are square.
97-02 badges...
03 badges..
Sooo... All this talk about getting the price down etc.. First thing to do is drive it and inspect it. I wouldn't even think of an offer until I got to drive it/ know more about it. And with that much rust by the fuel door I would imagine its elsewhere also.
And to whoever said something about the matching vin #s, it's to tell if the panels have been replaced ie in an accident. Not for collecter value...
so the badges have been replaced? along with the hood and added roof rails?
sweet haha, the square badges imo, dont look so bad, kinda like them.
i shoulda grabbed the vin on it and checked it out.
see what it actually is. prolly go up there today and steal that haha.
usually when there is rust around the gas door like that,
if im right, that usually means strut tower problems, right?
but this car doesnt have any, i mean any rust around them at all.
forgot to look at rocker panels and under the car, will be doing that today aswell.
will add some more pics when i go check it out.
but all in all, i think i might be sold.
and jus get it in like 2 weeks.
If there is no other rust on it then I'd offer $1k cash. But not with out driving it and checking the lim gasket etc. if you really want to be supercharged then do a motor or topswap, it would be cheaper than buying a new car and having to registrar it and stuff.
I bought my car as a gt with just a sunroof and leather seats and then added everything else over the years.
i like the square badges too, but the hood imo looks a little sloppy and aftermarket i think GM coulda done a better job with that.
OP: just because you see a supercharged car with rails, dont be set on it. there is plenty of other GTP's out there, if i were you i would look around. im sure a nice deal will come up one day. i also agree with swiggles, top swap your car and save money. if you know your car runs good then keep it. you never know you could buy this car and something could go wrong. is it worth the gamble? i also agree with the others, dont make him an offer till you check the whole thing out. make sure LIM gaskets are good, minimal rust in other places etc. although i do body work daily (mustang restoration shop) so i see alot of rust and seeing the rust around that fuel door would be a turn off for me. my moms car has the same problem and it will just keep growing and growing. be careful, dont be scared to make a low offer, and again dont just be set on it because its supercharged with rails and a hood.
Supercharge your car, cheaper insurance.
Lol guys who recommend him to supercharge his car already.
He has posted that his current car has rotted strut towers. Therefore needing something better and less rotted
i planned on doing all that monday when i go look at it.
but yea, my rear strut towers are gone on mine.
this one has good ones.
it does have rocker panel rust, but so does the one i have now,
and that lil visible rust should be and easy fix, my dad does that stuff all the time,
so he will be helping me out.
i got the vin and im gonna run it to see what it comes up as.
ran the vin, it is a 99gtp. nothin special.
looked at it today and talked to the guy at the shop.
its got bose sound system, cd changer in trunk.
he started it up, kinda revved on the gas, didnt see the boost go up at all.
everything sounded good. lim looked good engine bay was clean.
no looks of anything leaking. and its got a brand new set of tires on it.
he said he would consider a trade.
has some guy coming thursday with the offer he made.
f@*k.
i might end up not getting it.
