What?
Come to the land of Ferd/Gov Motors where we underrate cars.
Better yet:
You do realize how strict the new SAE standards are right?
For example: Nissan likes to claim their VQ37 makes more power at speed due to ram air effect, yet SAE doesn't allow that to be factored into rated power thus they cannot advertise the power at anything other than the SAE power that a 100% production sample tested in the presence of someone from SAE.
We don't make power period.
L67 literally makes the same power at 5500 rpm as it does at 6000 RPM. Torque falls off that fast.
Sure it makes plenty of TORQUE down low, but its not making power. Look at the torque curve of other engines.
Heres the SAE dyno for the 3.6: http://www.gmpowertrain.ca/Product/3...er%20Curve.pdf
Looks like a pretty awesome torque curve to me. And thats just the low spec 3.6. Heres a high spec 3.6: http://www.gmpowertrain.ca/Product/3...er%20Curve.pdf
Heres a 5.3 for fun: http://www.gmpowertrain.ca/Product/5...er%20Curve.pdf
Heres a ****ed up version of the GM 3800 dyno: http://www.gmforum.com/general-gm-ch...-2-rod-288705/
Thats for an L36 most likely, but the stupid torque curves everyone loves, two words: torque flash.

i forget who did the test but they took a stock 60's camaro and it was within 4 hp of what it was rated, a newer honda made 25 less than what the brochure said
Re: Different V6's and their power question
I cannot produce evidence, but I am right.
Re: Different V6's and their power question
new cars should be better, if they aren't then we have really f4cked up
