Car threw a couple codes the other day. p0068, and p0101. and the DIC came up reduced engine power. I limped it off the interstate and trailered it home. Previously the car would start, idle way down , or just start and die. I changed pcv and plugs. Now, with a new Delco MAF sensor it has no codes, but starts to run rough at @1800 rpms while in park. Also while driving it, say I am at hwy speed and let off accelerator the rpms decline and stumble up and down about the same range. Seems to me the car runs hotter than it used to, in the third section of the guage. any ideas? maybe the converter is restricted> MAP sensor? Thanks.

More info on the car would help but if I had to guess I'd say you're on the right track thinking the catcon might be plugged by what you've described.

Im sorry. the car is a base model 2006 grand prix. has 164000 miles and before these issues came up, it would start and die or just about die whether it was a cold start or warm. I replaced the plugs with some APP606's and a pcv from Orileys. It drove great for just about the first ten miles then started the rough running situation. The rpms would surge then settle down. I asked here the other day about the platinum plugs, was advised against them, so for the time being, I sand blasted the old ones and put them back in.

I hated to do it , but I had to drive it to work and on the way home on the interstate it did the above throw codes etc. So now with the new Maf sensor this is what it is doing. initial startup is smooth acts like it should, no codes... yet.

It could be a number of things like the throttle body or maybe the MAF that you put on is bad.

I've seen where these symptoms are caused by a bad CKP(crankshaft position sensor) or CPS(camshaft position sensor).
