1992 Richard Petty GP

Hope someone can help me with this question. We picked up a 1992 Pontiac GP that has several this on it stating it's a Richard Petty edition. Can anyone tell me how I can verify with the VIN if this is legit or just just a knockoff?

It wouldn't be in the Vin, just like any pace car used in nascar has nothing in the Vin to state if it's legit or not.

Just a regular Vin car that gm and nascar/petty made their own twist on.

You could call gm and give them the Vin of the car, and they could search it to see.

I know that sounds like I'm changing my words around but what I meant before was that their is no significant digits in the Vin that classify it as a special car.

Gm can look at the full history of the car to see whether it was turned into a petty car.

lets see a picture of the wheels center caps.

the RPO codes would show its trim, body, etc that would say.
