Re: Engine problems.......
Ya it was taking into a dyno specialist......and we also trying to make codes for the 06 as there is no tuneability in any platforms.....so its not just the fact I am looking to go faster we are also trying to figure the program out ..so who is best to ask people who work on them and know them
Re: Engine problems.......
speed kills, you have a roll cage? 6pt harness? cause your gonna need one.
and remember, you get caught at those speeds they take you to jail, then take your lic for a long time.
keep the hot dogging to the track. you know, where its legal and there's safety crews to save your life if god forbid you have a bad crash or blow up.....
you only have one life. there's no do overs.
and more importantly if you don't value your life that's one thing, but remember your not the only one on the road.
Re: Engine problems.......
Right,
HPT is the ones you want to take up the tuning issues with.
They'll probably just laugh as no one bothers to invest money into tuning 3800s.
SCT and EFI live do not support 3800s yet they support all the cool GM cars.

So did they tell you that placing race car on the street is a bad idea?
Purely curious as to how you think the street is a road course.
Re: Engine problems.......
You think I am taking it on public streets ....no its all for the road track and drag strip...I am not dumb...I would get my race license revoked
Re: Engine problems.......
Woot for a 15 second car.
Can I have a file your "tune"? I want to see whats done to it.
Re: Engine problems.......
You haz race licence but no have race kar?
Re: Engine problems.......
then i have no choice but to assume you know better than to run those speeds on the street?
just because you have track training means jack if your driving like a tool on the public streets.
ya know closed tracks dont have kids and other drivers just making left and right turns. on the street they are not in a race, get it?
nothing you say can defend doing 200 on the public roads, ever! i dont care if its in lambo.
Re: Engine problems.......
You've never driven out there.
You can see whats coming for miles and miles.
But for serious, your tuner guy should have found all of the speed limiter settings and changed them.
Takes a minute or two to look for them.
A fraction of the time between your dyno session and the creation of this thread.
even the duration of this thread is longer than the time it takes to search the PCM for those settings.
If you havent figured it out yet, run an 05 cal and PCM in your 06.
Re: Engine problems.......
Not on public roads and why do you think I asked the question the car I am asking about is the car I am making my track car .....and don't lecture me on kids at tracks they belong in the stands where my son sits .......so not hear for lecture I know the rules ......and I don't race in a league I do it to have fun ....

thats really not relevant.
blow a tire flip the car in the wide open middle of no where and die because no ones there to help, still sounds dumb to me.
Re: Engine problems.......
Ya he reset all the numbers ....he is well known in the road circuit. ....he knows his cars and I know all the proper hard ware to use as the 06 codes are not traceable

Your question is what?
How many times and where in the PCM does the vehicle limit speed?
Well guess what, no one knows, because no one can tune an 06+ minus will who will never tell you anyways.
If you use an 05 PCM, perhaps we might know the answer, but so might the dyno tuner if they looked at the HPT file for more than a minute.
This entire thread serves no purpose.
If you are intelligent enough to distinguish appropriate locations for speeding, then you should be able to figure out where in the very basic HPT file the speed is limited.
If you know the proper hardware, how can you not find the appropriate values in the calibration?
Re: Engine problems.......
Really middle of nowhere ...how about on a controlled track ...that is certified ...with staff and every thing ....middle of nowhere give your ****ing head a shake if I wanted to go boot around in the middle of no where I would use a quad ....
Re: Engine problems.......
ill just sit back and see how this 06 pcm gets tuned anyway..:th_popcorn:
Re: Engine problems.......
So where is your HPT file?
We need to see that to be able to determine if there are any settings in there that have been overlooked.
Re: Engine problems.......
If u are trained and serious about racing, why a gp gt? Many many better cars out there. I am curious.
Re: Engine problems.......
No I was asking if the car had a hard wired safety kill on it .....cause all my limits are off ...and questioning some one you don't know when the average HP in his shop is over your IQ put together ...
