turn the key and it takes a couple tries to start up. also the time and date get reset on the clock/DIC. windows and headlights etc work still.

i'm thinking starter or alternator. gonna have them look at it when i go into work tomorrow, what you guys think?

Check the cables for corrosion. Also make sure they are tight.

just checked real fast for anything obvious and didn't see anything. went to see if it would still start, but now it won't at all. ughhhh -_______- it makes some funky sounds and all the lights in the car flash on/off as it tries and fails.

    Sounds like a alternator.

once your running take it to a parts store and ask them to test the battery and the alt.

if your battery went dead either its old. check the date on it, compared to the months on it. or the alt is bad. or you left a light on.

when they test the battery if they do it in the car it needs to read 12+ volts with the car off. running it should read 13+ to as high as 14 volts, but a 13.7 to .9 is where you want it. if when running its less then 13 volts or the same as when the car is off your alt is bad.

seeing it in the daylight it became pretty obvious that it was a really old battery, probably the original. so it lived 97k miles lol
