So is it possible to just take the supercharger off of a gtp and run it like a gt? You would need to basically reverse top swap to do this correct? I don't have a gtp I only have a gt but I am just curious. Thanks all for the help in advance!

Take a look at what the GTP guys do when they go turbo. Just gut your SC housing and get a blockoff plate and a tune. But why do you see yourself going from GT to GTP and back?

Like I said its not me who is going from GTP to GT, another person is selling a top swap and said he is selling it because he didn't want the supercharger anymore. It just seemed weird to me so I thought I would ask to understand his perspective I guess? and to see if it seemed sketchy or not

He just said he wants to go turbo so is saving up for higher flowing heads and getting his engine rebuilt

That sounds less-sketchy. Worth a shot. What is wrong with your S/C?

Sorry, getting two threads mixed up. Have you looked into the ZZP Top Swap kit? What are your plans?

THIS is one of the better top swap kits out there. Your engine has the fuel injectors in the fuel rails, where a GTP has them in the heads. Therefore you cant just bolt on the supercharger and go... there will be no place for the fuel injectors. ZZP makes this kit with the fuel injector bungs installed into the GTP lower intake manifold. Plus you have a warranty on the S/C. By the looks of your avatar, you own a 2004+ GT. If so, this kit will not work for you. Might as well look into turbo setups... then get ready to build your tranny.

Well I would be getting all of the things from the gtp to be able to run the supercharger. Like heads, lim, the S/C itself, ect. I am 04+ and turbo is just a little too pricey for me at the moment. I am only 17 haha

Well You still have the injectors to deal with. Unless you get the heads from him, because you will have no place to put injectors. You might want to email ZZP and see what they can do for you as far as a LIM. You will also need a tune, dyno tune recommended.

you can buy a used top swap for 3 to $400. then 200 more in gaskets and fluids easy, if not more. you will need the pcm tuned. these are not just bolt it on parts and its done. this is a major deal as far as your cars pcm is concerned.

dont buy anything for this swap from zzp, you can source stuff from a junk yard and have the heads rebuilt and still be way under their cost.

He's far better off reading and trying to learn everything there is to know about topswaps on his own before dropping any emails to anyone. Then reading the safely modding 3800's thread.
Dyno tunes are for finding horsepower and racing purposes, most of us drive our cars on the street 99% of the time not on a racetrack or a dyno so what you really want is a "street" tune if possible over a mailorder/canned tune.

All injectors are attached to the fuel rail in our applications, that's where they get fuel from. SC motors have injector bungs in the heads, NA motors have them in the LIM

Did you happen to read what the guy wrote?

To properly top swap an 04+ you need:
    Heads
    Gen V Sc
    LIM
    DBW L32 TB and maf
    SC idler pulley and stand
    Harmonic balancer L67/L32 (sc motors)
    Map sensor

I'd be leary of what Sushamouf is saying. He appears to want to help out, yet doesn't appear to have been around the community a long time if he's suggesting the ZZP kit as the best available. It's a common newby mistake to think ZZP is the end all vs buying the parts elsewhere and putting this together for much less.

Hell.. right now I have all the parts to do this except the heads and I'd sell for much less than any ZZP pricing.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

^ Thank you for actually reading what I have been writing. I would be getting everything from the guy needed to do a top swap, I have been reading for months about this and even have been looking at a few and asking with no luck. I would never spend over 1.5 grand just to get a new set up from ZZP. The only thing I would need to get is gaskets and fluid

And you can work online discounts etc to get the best prices on them.

Reading isn't always one of my strong points. However I zeroed in after seeing that some info looked a little funny in his posts.

Thats what I was planning on doing with that stuff, by chance you wouldn't happen to know what gaskets I would need would ya? I am a little to lazy to go looking again to be sure but I think it is just heads, lim, TB, and for the supercharger correct?
