i got my '01 GP GT from my mother last winter... the MPG option on the DIC said 23.6 and that meant the mileage for fuel on the DIC said 424-430 miles per tank... mind you, these figures stayed the same throughout the duration of her owning the vehicle, and stayed that way with me right up until i reset things...

not knowing what i was doing, the "low oil" on the DIC to remind me to change my oil, started flashing on me, so when i reset things, i also reset the computer calculated MPG's and now, i can't get it to "lock" on a certain mpg or the old 23.6 no matter how long i drive it.. is there a way to make it lock in a certain mileage again, or will it just constantly calculate and one day I'll just notice that it is locked on a number? really not a big concern.. just OCD really lol.. because i know (hand calculating at each fill up) im getting a steady 27.9-28.3 highway and 22.3-23.9 city...

It shows an average based on how many miles since it was reset. I always reset mine when I fill up. The reason it didn't change before you reset it was because it had probably been a long time since it was reset, so the amount of miles was so high that any change in your mpg wouldn't change it unless it stayed like that for a while.
