Alright, I have an 08 base model 3.8 GP. I'm trying to supercharge it with a supercharge kit off of the GTP model. Can I just take the supercharger and pulley from a GTP and put it on mine? Or will it even fit correctly? From what I hear, they both have the same engine. Also, I was wondering if OnStar not installed triggers "charging system failure". I have new batteries, new starter, new alternator and still says charging system failure.

With an 08, doing a top swap seems to be impossible, because no-one can even tune it.

And with the whole hassle of just gathering parts ( sc, lim, heads, pullys, hb, etc etc etc) and trying to make it all work, its really not worth your time.

My grandpa & dad are mechanics but I am away right now. When I go home, would I be able to just pull the engine and put a better engine, tranny,& computer in it? I dont know what you mean by its no tunable. I would like to work on it as a project car so I know I'm looking at lots of time and work

Sell the 08 and get a 05 GTP.
You need so many parts from a GTP that you might as well buy the entire car to begin with.

You have a pretty nice GP yourself. Do you know where I could get a third brake light? I stripped my screws so I had to pull mine and I'm having a hard time find another brake light. I need to fix that before I sell it.

Try the pick n pull or salvage yards for any 04+ Grand Prix's. Also Morad's has lots of GM parts cheap. moradpartscompany.com

why did you remove the brake light?

It's not the brake light that is stripped. It is either the fasteners in the spoiler or the screws themselves.

    Recap.

No top swap on 08 GP because of CAN-BUS system rendering the car untunable.

Pull the codes for the charging and deal with those problems.

Find new screws or fasteners for the brake light.

    Research before spending any money.
