Just bought a 97 Gp GT with 162k pretty clear a few blemishes but runs good and seems to be a fairly solid .

However I have a Check Engine light on though and I've gin through all my normal checks for Evap based codes and can't seem to figure it out. The code thats coming up is P1655 and I was told by the previous owner the EGR valve was replaced and yet the code is still on.

Is there anything else I'm missing here ? I've looked at all vac lines and they all seem to be good , haven't found any leaks .

So at this I'm welcoming any and all help .

Being a 97, you have a purge valve and purge soleniod. Typically located on the back of the engine over the rear valve cover. First check is to ensure they hooked up the hoses properly. The vacuum diagram on your hood/radiator support should show you the proper routing.

I've been tracking the problem down, and didn't bother to look back at my post and see what was going on . Defiantly going to look into this tomorrow morning .

Everyone looks fine, pulled both things apart and cleaned the connectors on them. Any other thoughts ?
