I was gonna sell the car for a gtp, but I just got a pizza delivery job and I'd rather not buy a gtp just to wear it down..

So would it be worth putting like headers/intake on it or would I just be putting money into nothing? Would it yield ANY results?

No, I'm not expecting some kind of super speed in my gt lol

save up your money and do a top swap, then you'll have your gtp.

    Honestly? No.

    Nothing is worth it.

Put gas in and drive it.

you gotta ask yourself before you start modding it how long you plan to keep it if you mod it. if you only plan to keep it a few years then no its not worth it. 10+ years itll be worth it because you be able to do a lot of stuff to it.

Topswap your gt, keeping it n/a and modding is a waste but i would find a cheap beater car and use that for delivery and keep gt for your 'fun' car. I will never use a nice car to haul pizza... unnecessary wear on your car for **** pay and tips.

like what? i would say the next up would be modding a car like a camaro or mustang. hes not going to want to spend the money to get a decent one of those and then mod that because then he will have to keep his gp for the winter or find another car if he sells his gp. thats way more money than if he just starts modding his gp and then finds a beater down the road once he has a lot of money into his gp.

^ Well depends what your going for as far as speed/track times. If your just DD and want a bit more pep in your step..it's not a complete waste of time but if your only plan on keeping it for say a year or so don't waste your money. Plus you can source out used parts to save some money. Now if your looking to 'race' go with a better platform.

Honestly nothing is worth modding..it doesn't add value to the car but if the owner wants to mod that's their choice. As long as you the owner are happy that should be enough to justify your any money spent.

redcompg hit the nail on the head there. if you want a faster DD and plan on keeping your car for a while then go right ahead and start modding your gp. if you dont plan on keeping it for very long dont waste your time. if you wanna track car for races then get a car with a v8 and RWD.

At most you can make 225-250 WHP on a bone stock trans, minus shift kit and still consider it reliable.

Thats about your average 3.4 setup or 3.8 top swap w/headers.

Start making more and now you're in the range of breaking hard parts.

225-250whp is plenty for a DD.

alright from the looks of it, i'll probably throw an intake just cause thats easy, maybe headers down the line. i plan on keeping this car for a while, 95.7k miles on it atm, wanna run it to the ground and just save up for a really nice 2nd car.

yeah just start with the small stuff. if you find that you want to start getting some serious power in there then you make the gp your project car and get another DD. A mod that i would recommend is find someone who is selling a used catback for your car and slap that on there. i did that and im very happy with the results.

Fair warning: 3800s never sound pleasant in-cabin.

Breaking stuff comes with the territory..if you mod anything..plan on something breaking because it will eventually happen and of course have some money aside in case it does. You can do a topswap/headers/intake and tune and your not going to be hurting the reliability of course you can easily lessen your chance of breaking anything by not driving like a idiot and screeching tires from every stop. I modded mine..started 4 years ago have yet to have to replace anything do you 'beating' on it...stuff like cv axles/starter etc then again I don't drive my car hard all the time.

Catback isn't necessary if you want a different 'tone' just get a set of mufflers..save money and time. If you haven't already done so read Nicks thread plenty of information in there to help you decide.
