well, my windshield wipers are in the up right position, they work, and i have another set if need be, but i cant get the damn things to budge. the guy said it may be missing a prong or something. i can get the bolts off, but the wipers wont come off to get to the motor. and i just replaced the water pump from my other 97 and it worked fine on there, never had a problem, now its making a weird sound and im not sure what to think. my temp gauge never gets above 230, gets close when im sitting, then jus goes right back down to normal temp. sorry for the long reply, jus some thoughts.

As far as the wipers go, that's a known problem with them, and if you search around you'll find the fix. Off the top of my head, I don't remember what it is otherwise I'd tell you.

As for the water pump issue, it sounds like you have air in the system. There is a bleed procedure that should be followed after the cooling system is drained and filled. That may be the cause of your high temps. Basically, get the car to operating temperature, open the bleeder on the thermostat housing, close it once a stream of coolant comes out. It may take several tries to get it all but it's the nature of the beast. The noise may just be a pulley or something on its way out. One of the first things I did to mine was replace all the accessory pulleys with new to avoid having one seize and leave me stranded.

and as for the wipers, i cant get the wiper arms off to take a look under the panel.

Wonder if your radiator may be clogged up? Do the fans kick on? Does there appear to be any leakage off the radiator sides or top anywhere?

if the rad is clogged you need a new one.

do the fans come on when you turn on the a/c, this only works if the a/c works.

and the fans dont come on normally till like 214 deg.

when i bleed my engine, i like to let it idle till the fans come on. that way i know the t stat opened up. then bleed it.

and make sure the heater core is flowing coolant as well. if the heat works your ok, if not flush it and leave it full of water and hook the hoses back up. garden hose works well for this, hose to hose.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

well my heater only works on 5(max) and i need to recharge the ac system.

i know why the heater only works on 5, i think.
its the resistor if im correct?

and damn. i just junked my other grand prix.
otherwise i would have pulled the radiator out of that one :/

but i get pressure in both hoses and im not 100% sure if its clogged or not.

Could be resistor or could be ignition switch.
