    So, i can likely get a great deal on a 1998 Grand Prix GT as a complete project car (I do have pictures pulling from ad), the only reason i'm posting this thread is I have a bit of a concern. I've heard and read around here that 97's aren't that great (because of all the bugs), and was wondering if the 98 was any better?? I currently own a 01 and it's for sale (LOCALS ONLY) and i'm looking to get another to start as a project.. Depending on how much my current one goes for. Anyways, enough of my blabbling here are some pics of the car in question...

    '97's are junk because of the 4T60E...you'll be fine if you don't mind working on it.

    $725 as it sits, mostly in primer
    Still waiting on the guy to email me more / better pictures, i'll be sure to share those too once i get them

    I honestly have a feeling that i can fix this up, paint it, and sell it for a-lot more than what it's worth (yes i'm dreaming)

    I Forgot to add, the car has the following;
    New:
    fuel lines, gas tank, break lines, tires
    added heads up display and completely re-tuned the engine.
    put new rockers on it last summer, still hasnt been driven on the road.

    OP- I'd run the VIN and see if it's been wrecked as well.

    Change the LIM gaskets on it for sure. 6 years is a long time for a car to sit. I wouldn't be surprised if it leaks a fluid or 2 once you drive it some. Prob. need VC gaskets/grommets at minimum. Then change all the fluids (trans, oil, coolant, etc.).

    Black underhood, white exterior? It's been repainted another color at some point or something else fishy is going on.

    Ex nay, just realized that's a pale gray/white primer on the exterior. I was assuming just the doors were primered...

    might of been t-boned or something like that, check the vins on the doors to match the vin on the dash. ect with the fenders, hood.you will know if the hood, fenders, doors have been replaced, you can check the one on the trunk for good measure.
    Looks as if the two doors were def replaced
