Any advice I should know before I buy these black plasti- dip cans? At first I was thinking about matte vinyl wrapping but I read some forums on how plastidip is easier and cheaper.

I have these rims on my GTP

I think those look nice the way they are but if you really want to go with a different look go on and plasti dip them. I did it to mine and like it and the greatest thing about plasti dip is that if you dont like it then just peel it off! Make sure you do about 3 or 4 coats because that way itll come off easier when you want it to but yet it will stay on by itself and look good.

so you did about 4 coats? I read that if i buy 6 cans I should be good... And do i have to worry about going through a car wash or anything like that? Finally, how far did you hold the spray paint away from the rims?

    Thanks for the help man

If i remember correctly it was. I think i only used 3 or 4 cans but it definitly doesnt hurt to have extra cans. I never took mine threw a car wash so i dont know for sure but plasti dip holds up really well. And if it does start to peel then spray more over it and it should help. I held it about 12 inches away i believe.

General rule of thumb the further away you hold it the more texture you get. Closer you hold it the smoother it seems to come out. I usually hold it around a foot back.

Mine has done great so far. They even rocked the country road I take to work and they've held up great.

chrome finish > plastidip, but if you want them black you cant go wrong with plastidip. stupid proof and easy to use. 4 cans should cover all 4 rims and you should have a bit left.
