Thread: Did my wheel bearing/hub got messed up?? after removing and replacing

Ok I hear a noise in my car, coming from the passenger side wheel, so we tho the problem was the wheel bearing and we removed it, once removed we found out that the problem actually is the tight rods (or something like that) so we put the wheel bearing assembly back in place, but now my track off and abs light stays on and my steering wheel feels a little hard to steer. I know is the wheel bearing because I connected a new wheel bearing assembly (that I bought thinking that that was the problem) I just connected the sensor to the new one, I did not actually install it fully. I start my car and the track off and abs light is off.... How is possible that the wheel bearing mess up just by removing and replacing? what could happen? any ideas?

Is the sensor built into the hub assembly? Did you plug it in? Did it get dirty or grease or anything on it? Seems like the sensor is not reading. Your traction control is probably being disabled because it can't tell if the wheels are slipping, hence the trac off light. Try checking the things I mentioned. It could just be a faulty right out of the box. It's been known to happen.

I'm talking about the same wheel bearing. I didn't not install a new one because that was not the problem, I just put it back and since then the problem started, I remember the wire got caught and was pulled a little. So more than likely the sensor is bad now since I jerked a little bit...? it sucks, now I have to change it for sure I guess lol

you could've pulled a wire loose or cut it in the process. Did you see any damage to the wires? I would hate for you to buy a new one just to find out it didn't fix it. Maybe you can take it to a shop and have them scan it, and tell you what it is exactly.

I don't think he ever put a new one on. He found out it was "the tight rods or something" tie rod ends I'm guessing.
