So I bought a new Regal and I honestly really like it... but it's already had it's fair share of issues. It's a good thing that an experienced w-body guy has there hands on this car because someone without a clue would have driven themselves nuts.
I found out a few days after registering the car that it most likely had a blown HG, which was confirmed a few days ago. It's got some minor rust issues that are being addressed, the car was setup with a pulley that's wayyyy too small (probably what lead to the blown HG), the front suspension (wheel bearings, lca's bushings) was annihilated, and it has a persistent wont start issue.
So **** is going down.
I picked up new moog LCA's along with a pair of Timkin wheel bearings. I also bought an aluminum subframe from the JY for 60 bucks, which they shipped to my door for free.
I do have a couple areas of concern regarding the subframe.
The mount spot is bent... not sure how big of a deal that is. But where the LCA bolts in looks all screwed up. This is what the other side looks like.
There's a big crease and a slight crack. Is this a big deal? I might just have it welded to be safe but I'm not sure yet.
On the right is the L32 out of my old Regal. It only has 30k on it and I know she runs great, so that'll be going back in to the new Regal. On the left is the L67. It's got just under 100k and will have all new gaskets put in and I'll likely just sell it.
So next up is putting everything back together []
