Hey everyone I had some questions about getting an exhaust for my car. I have a 2005 grand prix gtp. I want something that will give my car nice little deep rumble, nothing loud and annoying. I was looking at cat back exhaust kits but for something that I have no idea what it sounds like, that's alot to spend. I saw that zzp has a downpipe I can get for my car and I was wondering if anyone knew if that would change my sound any. I was thinking about getting a 3" downpipe with a cat, but only if it bolts in which I imagine it would. any suggestions or tips would be appreciated

Install headers. Your car will love you and it will sound a little different. Leave the exhaust stock.

dont waste money on exhaust system it wont gain much for the money ull be spending on it, just buy mufflers, i suggest SLP or borla, then get aftermarket tips on ebay or something, downpipe or headers will change the sound as well

    want sound

    change mufflers and nothing else.

flowermasters and magnaflow will make you ears bleed and will drone.

Straight piped car will make you were ear muffs everywhere.

Buy borla or this one other brand that sounds "okay", i just dont remember the name and someone else will chime in.

    Or stay stock.

Where do you live in ohio? Headers w/o cat and a glasspack resonator will help the sound out a lot and help performance as well.

    The welds always break.

I welded mine about 3 or 4 times.

I'm sure on a stock valvetrain they would have been fine...but the Thrasher Cam and poly mounted everything kept busting the welds loose...didn't help I had superawesomechainsnapping low idle.

Link in my signature helps as well...and if you want a decent install...WBS store headers and ZZP Headers are the easiest...because...of the least amount of parts I'd guess...

    But if it were me,

Speed Daddy or SSAC's...and keep the entire catback...factory. If you want to change the tone..get mufflers and tips...think: Borla, Corsa, SLP, Dynomax Super Turbo's, Thrush mufflers...but yeah...no Flowmasters or Magnaflows...or just removing the resonator.
