Roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty and learn to work on your own car. Especially if you are tight on money.

Have him tune it if you really want him to do something with it.

False sense of security when going to a speed shop... I've seen first hand dozens of instances where speed shops that are "reputable" completely rape people blind, do shoddy work and flat out lie. For example, friend had an LT1 camaro with next to no mods. Wanted a 4.10 gear. I told him I knew someone who could install one for 100 bucks, he said "no I want a reputable shop to do it, so if there's an issue I'll be covered". Well he paid $1500, the rear end blew two days later and they told him to basically **** himself.

They make a killing off of idiots.

Save money and do it yourself....JK JK JK, for real though after you get some work done by them post up pics and give them a free plug so that maybe they will cut you a deal on some more work later on.

Dude, I have a suggestion. Since you're hell bent on having someone else do the work, how about you pay a GP member the gas money to come up there, wrench with you or just let them do it, and pay for JUST a tune. Because labor charges and the shop's work on your car could be shotty like has been said. Like seriously.

    lmfao!^^^^^

Didn't we discuss this a while back in chat? Paying some guy who has to charge you more because he has a dyno and a whole shop to pay for is just plain dumb. There are probably people local to you that have done headers and other stuff many times and would probably be willing to do it for cheap.

I don't get your logic but I guess you just want to spend money. If wish I could rent out a shop for a day just to install your parts then charge you a ton of money and send you home...That's basically what you are doing. lol

I will tell you this though....If you are scared to touch your car or you think having someone from a shop install aftermarket parts because you think it is going to be reliable and they are going to warranty everything.....You are in for a lot of money and disappointment.

"I have come to the conclusion to ask a member on this forum that is relatively close by to drive over and install my parts even if it means I pay their gas on the way over. If it means saving allot of money and they have a reliable install and tune from some of the users here if the shop cannot give me a reasonable price, so be it. Maybe in the process the user that is willing to drive over and help me out as long as I provide the parts can teach me some skills that I can use in the future so I can mod nearly every thing myself which will be rewarding and be useful in the long run."

    The best plan by far.
