    Hi all,
I have a 2001 GTP and just the other day I went to turn on the fan while I was driving then all of a sudden the dashboard lights (ABS, Check Engine..etc) was blinking on off, radio not working, windows will not go down..etc. I turned off the fan and went back to normal. Can anyone tell me what the heck is goin on? BTW - A few weeks ago my key will not completely go to the off postion intermittenly but I found the release button on the bottom of the steering column. Is this also related to my dashboard problem? - Note - when I got home, I turned on the fan and it did not happen.

Sounds like you have a ignition switch going bad.

Thanks for the info FordMan77. I drove the GTP today and all is good until I turned on the fan, my DIC display blinked a few times then it went normal, I turned off the fan then turned it on again and it did the same DIC display blinking on/off. Is this an ignition switch problem or combination with the fan blower motor?

Might be a problem w/ the blower motor resistor, or possibly the HVAC unit itself. I know I've seen a thread on this here somewhere. If someone doesn't chime in do a quick search and see what comes up.
