I see people say N/A and other stuff... I've never owned one but I'm looking to trade my 99 GTP for one and all of the trim levels and abreviations and what not are all unfamiliar to me... someone please give me a break down... and how to tell the different between them

    thanks!

they have 05 base model/doesnt have dual exhaust, then 05 GT which does and its a tad bit sportier looking, both of which are N/A meaning naturally aspirated (No SC) and then they have 05 GTP which is the supercharged model and then they have the 05 GXP v8 model

If you get a 04+ GP go for the CompG GTP trim level it has all the goodies. They where made from 04-05 after that I beleive all the GT's are supercharged. GXP is a whole new ball game V8

Ok gotcha... I'm not sure which model the one im looking at is as she left for the day, but hopefully its got dual exhaust... and a sunroof.

I know it's got cloth seats... does that mean its a base model?

no it doesnt mean that, and if u do trade in ur car for it u gonna do any work to the car? it might be a base model tho since a woman and a buisness man were driving it considering they could care less about the trim level and prolly doesnt have a sunroof

make sure plugs wires and **** are good then make your own intake and throw on headers and hv3 and tune it up, custom or overkill seem to be pretty popular, also tint it, get some tires and rims =D, but with that high mielage i wouldnt do TO TO much to it ull prolly get rid of it in like 2 years or so

I flip cars. I've already had 4 cars in 2012.. lol... it'd be more proper to say I'll prolly only have it a couple months...

I will probably just fix the small things and sell for 5k... $3600 profit... then buy a super nice older GP

    In '05 minus factory options.

Base - Single tipped exhaust, cloth interior, no sunroof, single disk CD player, OnStar, majority came with alloy rims. Most didn't have ABS or TCS.

GT - Dual tipped exhaust, leather interior, sunroof, 6 disk CD player w/ XM, Onstar, different wheel combinations. Came with ABS and I believe TCS.

GTP - Majority the same as GT, but supercharged.

GTP Comp G - Same as GTP with tapshift transmission and few other loaded goodies. Along with HUD and so on.

GXP - V8 5.3L LS4 front wheel drive flop. Leather all the other loaded jazz.

And I believe also '05 had the GT1 and GT2 trim levels, more or less options were different.

There is a decent amount of options, so every one could change a little.

Also if the title just says Pontiac Grand Prix with nothing after, it's a base model. Some places label it as base, some don't even identify it after Grand Prix.

Jeeez... you know, it's easy as heck to distinguish the difference between SE GT and GTP and 40th anny, daytona, etc on the older ones....

The biggest give away from a base and a GT is the exhaust and badging. Unless someone changed out the exhaust on the base to a dual, like me. But on the lower right corner of the trunk would have some badging. If one isn't present, then its more than likely a base, or someone debaged their GT.

Ok gotcha... thank you very much guys. I'm shocked to find out my car books almost as much as the 05 GP I'm wanting to trade for.
