Is it normal for the gas gauge to move up while accelerating and down while it is deaccelerating? Because it is worrying me and I never know exactly how much gas I have, which makes me get gas in my car when I do not need it. I read that it is normal for it to do that in the manual...but it doesn't seem normal to me.

yea be happy that it works but ur problem isnt that big of a deal, but a friend of mine's gas gauge was broke, most of the time when it read that his tank was full it really meant that it was empty, and when it read empty most of the time he had full tank, sometimes it didnt tell him how much he had at all haha

    the wires are probably reversed
mine says "E" always and always has the low fuel light and the range does not work and the HUD always has the gas light on

sounds like my bonneville. bonnevilles have a bad part of the sensor where the contacts go back and forth as the floater moves in the tank. after about 100k miles, those contacts wear or break off. As far as a bonneville, i can change it from inside the trunk of the car. haven't checked on a GP yet.

you cant change it from the inside of the trunk? and gas tanks usually are not to hard to drop down never did one on a GTP though but i might upgrade to a plastic tank so i might have to

Bonnevilles have a little service panel in the trunk. It's a little plate under the carpet with 5 bolts holding it on...

like i said before, i don't know if this applies to a GP or not.
