It's not stock but there's not a lot done to it and there is nothing wrong with my gtp
Ok i took it to the track last friday. It runs low 15s. The gtp runs low 14s. I asked around and thats what stock ls1 cars run around here.
I ran against a bolt on 99 mustang and beat it.
I know it sounds crazy but it is the altitude that kills the NAs here.
Im still keeping the TA ofcourse it looks great on the 20"s and people ask me about it all the time. I love how the ls1 roars at high rpm as opposed to the ugly 3800 exhaust note.
It shouldnt be hard to get it in the 14s thats really all i want for a daily driver. I do have seen modded ls1 run below 14s easily here.
Lid and filter are on the way and long tubes + y pipe should follow.
I have been wanting to check the vacuum lines on the TA because I could hear a hiss coming from the back of the engine when in idle. I wasn't wrong, they were crap. The PCV line on the back was completely cut. And the MAP line cracked as soon as I touched it. God bless the man who decided to put the vacuum connection at the rear end of the manifold. My fore arms are all scratched and red. But I managed to change the lines completely, better sure than sorry.
Also, after I was done with the lines, I scanned it with the torque thing and noticed that when I pressed the gas pedal to the bottom, the TPS sensor would only go up to 85%After further inspection I noticed that the accelerator cable adjustment section was loose so the car was never going WOT LMAO. No wonder it was not getting close to the GTP and why it felt heavy when taking off.
So considering the huge vacuum leak and the 85% max throttle I'm pretty sure it will run at least in the high 14's range. I'll have to wait until the weekend to find out. I took it for a spin and it definitely feels stronger I love how hard it pulls at high RPMs but feels unstable on the rear, gotta be careful and keep it straight, it's been a long time since I drove a RWD.
I guess it's also a fun fact that it even beat a bolt on mustang with just 85% throttle and a vacuum leak.

Sweet dude get those issues fixed and your good to go! You should try to find some drag radials for the track.
I think you stole that car. My best bud paid $10,000 for his WS6 with 160xxx miles.
Turns out it was a formula firebird with all the parts to make it a WS6 but without the RPO sheet saying it was one.
Get coilovers if you mess with suspension. WS6 suspension is good, but just pay the extra for the coilovers... Worth it in the long run.
I thinks gears are a waste unless you add huge HP, so go cams, heads, and exhaust. And a torque converter really helps. My friends Z28 got raped by the WS6 until it got a torque converter...now it just gets beat.
And I sympathize with the arms and hands... We had to change his knock sensors and broke a vacuum line putting the mainfold back on, my hands were bad and bleeding in some spots.
Altitude.
How high above sea level are you? I'm around 2k here.
