So I'm getting a hard time from all the tire shops in town. My plan was to bring the car in, have them remove the tires from my stock wheels to get my stock tpms out, install em in the new wheels, mount the tires and then I drive away happy.

But, since the bolt pattern is 114.3 instead of 115 they won't touch it. They will, however, put the tires on the wheels if they don't have to put the wheels on the car, so I'm cool with that. I just don't know about going with no pressure sensors? Is it going to affect anything besides the dash light being on all the time? I could see gm making it some kind of reduced power mode if the sensors aren't functioning or something like that... For "safety".

Will it chime every 2 minutes to "remind" me like the seat belt chime does?

Then also, I know the tire/wheel thread says 114.3 is fine but these guys have me nervous. They were cool until I told them the bolt patern was a few tenths of a millimeter off and each of them like freaked and said the lugs wouldn't torque down and stuff would break and I would die and kill every child in china if I put those wheels on...

Just wanna know how screwed I will be before I go and waste 100 dollars on mounting a mistake tomorrow, lol.

Mainly concerned about the repeating chime and possible side effects to having the sensors not present.

You will be fine, and driving with out the sensors will only make the car beep at your.

So the chime will repeat every like 2 minutes like the seat belt reminder thing? I can deal with the extra chimes at start up, but not if it's gunna be every 2 minutes while Im driving, lol

Just bring the tires in two at a time and have them swapped. like run two factory and two aftermarket wheels and take the others to get swapped, should only take like 5 min per sensor to swap.

It wont beep, but you have to dismiss it every time you start the car and a gauge cluster light stays on. IIRC

Hint, don't tell them the bolt pattern and they won't even know. All that matters is the hub bore. I wanted to put one of my Stealth wheels on the Grand Prix as a temp fix but the bore was too small, so I ended up throwing a Mustang wheel on to get me through. I didn't die, and the car drove fine. Don't let idiots at tire shops scare you on something probably thousands of people have done.

You could always make a pressurized canister for the TPMS and toss it in the trunk. No chime No warning light No problem.

Edit the thing is called a TPMS pipe bomb. gotta love google.

Yeah I think I'll just go with Nick's idea, I'll put the car up on jackstands and take 2 wheels at a time in the exploder.

Hopefully they wont be douches about taking me in 2 trips, I only live like 10 minutes away
