So for awhile I have been tossing around the thought of going turbo or Supercharged. I would be using the base kit from ZZP, or stock top swap from Morad.
Which do you think would be better for daily driving, with the occasional lead foot. (Also mpg does play a small factor in choice)
    Thanks

too many variables to give you a good answer. please supply more information on your wallet thickness, your goals, you driving style, how much you drive, where you're driving, etc. etc.

I drive every day about 15-20 miles , I do have a pretty heavy foot, about 3-4k to spend drive work, college, friends, that's about it.

    *edit* Majority is city driving.

Thats what i have been reading around and seeing, but it seems like since GP's come super there is a much bigger option list for superchargers than turbos, which makes me wonder about which will have a better longevity over the other due to use etc.

Depends how you take care of it and the power level you're looking at. A top swap and a good tune with a stock pulley can put a hurting on 3.4 cars. That will run you around 500-700. Depending on your luck with parts.

I probably wont be doing any crazy boost levels, im only looking for around 300-400 crank hp, nothing huge.

Don't need crazy boost levels to make that with a turbo

Tyler.. Tranny too? Hell need it. And please, you don't need to tell me what they can be had for. My whole setup will cost me in the end only 1k.

well a decent turbo build will put you over the 300 whp mark where the stock trans isnt enough

low boost turbo should be easier on the tranny in theory. that said, bolt-on turbo kit will net you pretty big gains vs just topswapping. i mean, topswap with fluids and supporting mods is anywhere between 1000 if youre lucky to 1500-2000 territory if youre planning on going further than just topswap. at that point id start considering a used z3/z7 kit.

So far in this thread hes only after -400 ish whp so why is this any harder on a trans than a big sc build?
yes we all know the trans is the weak point which has nothing to do with 3-4k for a turbo build

300whp isn't the goal just 300 crank, 300whp is going to be more than i need. I know the Crank to wheel hp are no where near the same, out of curiosity then, what would be the whp on a 300 crank?

About 240 whp. If you want just that amount, you might as well just topswap, with maybe a 3.6 and a good tune and you'll be there.

depends on the dyno, if its a mustang dyno, dyno jet, or one of those silly box like dyno's that bolt to the wheel. Figure a 30% drivetrain loss
