Well, I really liked my other's half Grand Prix. (but of course, never admit it to my other half, lol). So if no ones my story, here goes briefly, got a 1999 Red Grand Prix, 4 door, at buddies tow action. $500.00 later we got a good running car, then when i went to get a car to to some dumb ass wrecking my car. I was out looking an just happened to see this brief glimps of a red pontiac, when I went back it was a 2001 Red Sunfire (Guppie), 5 speed, 2 door. Thinking that this newer car also had all the bells and whistles of the Grand Prix (Pirhia). WRONG O SO FREAKIN WRONG!!! lol My Guppie is manual all the way down the getting out to unlock the trunk, no freakin trunk latch or button!

Well then one day I broken the Warden's car and found this site looking for help. Being that dumb girl I hate to play up to, I asked what was the differnts from an GTP, GXP, GT, GT1 so on and so on. Smarties here give this dumb female engine spec and all this info that made me feel even more dumber-er...

I one day looking thur the craiglist for parts to a GTP for a friend I find a 2002, maybe 2001 Black, 4 door, Grand Prix GTP, for parting out. When I showed up the car was still a whole car minus needing a starter and file for lost title. An awsome $200 instead of $500 which was posted. Now to go with the trend I now need to find a Grand AM GT to go with the GPT.

    QUESTION:

The Grand Am GT and Grand Am Se difference is? GT is like the GTP supercharger to the Grand Prix correct??? So what the question is the GT is better, faster than a plain Grand Am Se right??? Cause once I find the GT Grand Am I get to have the Grand Pris GTP, YES, YES, YES....

EVEN MORE FREAKIN SPPEDING TICKETS HERE I COME! lol

That was an interesting read. IIRC the GT had 5 more hp than the SE. You wouldn't notice a difference though. They are both slow as balls. I wouldn't even bother looking at them.

very interesting indeed. You could look for the grand am gt ram air edition. those are pretty cool but they're not that fast and theres not much you can do to them. the only way the gt relates to the gtp is you can get the fanciest options for both of them. power windows, leather seats, sun roof, etc.

took this right off the internet.
    1992–1994: 2.3L SOHC Quad OHC L4. 120 hp (115 in 1993 and 1994), 140 ft·lbf (190 N·m) of torque.
    1992–1994: 2.3L DOHC Quad 4 L4 engine: 160 hp (155 in 1993 and 1994), 155 ft·lbf (210 N·m) of torque
    1992–1994: 2.3L DOHC Quad 4 HO L4 engine: 180 hp (175 in 1993 and 1994), 160 ft·lbf (220 N·m) of torque
    1992–1993: 3.3L 3300 MPFI V6: 160 hp (120 kW), 185 ft·lbf (251 N·m) of torque
    1994–1998: 3.1L 3100 SFI V6: 155 hp (116 kW), 185 ft·lbf (251 N·m) of torque
    1995: 2.3L DOHC Quad 4 L4 engine: 150 hp (110 kW), 155 ft·lbf (210 N·m) of torque
    1996–1998: 2.4L DOHC Twin Cam L4 engine: 150 hp (110 kW), 155 ft·lbf (210 N·m) of torque
    1999–2002: 2.4L DOHC Twin Cam L4 (LD9 model) engine: 150 hp (110 kW), 155 ft·lbf (210 N·m) of torque
    2002–2005: 2.2L DOHC Ecotec L4 engine: 140 hp, 150 ft·lbf of torque
    1999–2005: 3.4L 3400 V6: 170 hp (175 for GT), 195 ft·lbf of torque (205 for GT)
    Transmissions used:
1999–2005: 4-speed automatic with overdrive (4t40e for SE Models, 4t45e for GT models)

2000–2005: Getrag 5-speed manual with overdrive ('Twin Cam' & Ecotec engines only)

so it looks like the quad 4 motor from 92 to 94 had the most hp at 180, but the 99 to 05 3.4 had the most tq at 205.
