    Hey guys,

My 2000 GTP hesitates when I step on the gas pedal from a dead stop sometimes. I'm not talking when I jam on the pedal. Just everyday driving. No codes being thrown from engine.

I've replaced wires, plugs, pcv valve, air filter, fuel filter, and cleaned MAF. I've also seafoamed the top-end and put sea-foam in the gas tank but I didn't put any in the oil.

    Any suggestions?

Good question. I'll have to take notice. What would it mean if the car is cold when it does it vs. when its warm?

sometimes miles doesnt matter with a cat cuz if you dont take care of it (and i mean you as in someone in general) it'll clog it up. i just rolled over 100k on my 02 and i need a new cat bad. does it put at all like when u let off the gas or anything?

If his cat was clogged he would not have much power above 3,000 when he is stepping on it.

It would fall on its face because the exhaust gases cant get out.

I would look over vacuum lines and such.

Cats usually don't act up until the car is warmed up, if they are getting clogged. Like cam said though, check all the vacuum lines.

So far I've noticed it seems to do it from a dead stop only when the car is warm. Not often, but often enough to notice. Plenty of power over 3k rpm.

Had the car scanned today at autozone. Scan was clean. Seems to only hesitate now and again from a stop and I've noticed the past few days sometimes the idle is ok and sometimes it idles rough usually just after it is started, but still warm.

43K miles. That's low for a 2000. Is everything original like the alternator, ICM, coil packs, crank sensor, cam sensor, knock sensors etc? I hope its not the original battery. I know many of these may produce a DTC...but who knows?

44k actually and yes it was a single owner car that was a 2nd car. As far as I know everything is original except the battery. I can tell the plugs were replaced with NGKs but I put Autolite 106s (or whatever the stock heat copper plug is) no mods except an open cone.

Looks like everyone gave up on ya!

If it were mine I would:
    1) Scan for historical codes
    2) Check fuel pressure while car is under load i.e. normal acceleration
    3) Check the battery, alternator and chassi grounds

Most other problems like ICM, crank sensors yadayada will produce DTC's. Your fuel pump may be getting ready to go.

    Good luck
