so just wondering the msd ignition coils found here on pfyc MSD Blaster Ignition Coils 8224 - GPUNDER - PFYC.com but the question is when you have mods done to your engine and you run colder plugs wouldnt you want a colder spark? (for the L67) they say the msd gives you a hotter spark i have seen these on some gtp's before but is this more for a n/a 3800? whats your opinion on this?

MSD is for distributors, not for coils.

Stock coils are the best hands down.

They cant give a hotter spark when nuthing in the ignition system is changed, its not flowing more current.

As for plugs, you want to run the hottest spark you can get away with. Your mod level will determine what plug to run.

so say you have a 3.4 pulley with supporting mods and autolite 104's inst 103's colder wouldn't you want a colder spark for a low compression engine?

Nope, as I said, you want to run the hottest spark you can. Read up on it.

I was under the impression voltage dictates the range at which the coil will be efficient.

So to not know, doesn't help at all.

Up to 45,000v lol. I was just saying, if someone wants "New" coils, that it would be cheaper to get the Jegs coils than buy new OEM. I doubt they are any better or worse than the OEM coils from GM and defiantly better than MSD coils.
