I'm new here and all so take it easy but how much should i pay for a 97-03 gtp?

Your question really has too many variables to answer accurately.

5-9 thousand depending on mileage and location if in showroom condition.

On other end... couple hundred bucks.

I think this is way overpriced although i may be wrong 2000 pontiac grand prix gtp supercharger .

I use kbb values and all but ever since i came here i see people saying almost all the time that you shouldn'y pay more then 1.5 grand for a gtp.

They're talking about ones that have either very high mileage, body issues or severe mechanical issues.

Finding a "no start" would enable you to pick up a half decent car for that.

But being realistic, they're worth just a little more than that.

Use kbb its awesome. Ill give u my scenario. 2002 gtp 86,000 miles worth 8,000 bucks in october of 2010. Need a lower intake manifold gasket replacement and had a small crack at the bottom of the windshield that's unnoticeable. That's the ONLY thing wrong with it. Came with a battery 2 months old and michelin tires that were a week old. Real clean. I knew I could do the lim job. Owner said he didn't drive it much and my guess is he had a shop quote him the price of the lim job and he didn't like it. Anyway, I bought it for 5,000.

U have to know what the car is worth, what's wrong with it, and how much he could actually get for that. Anyone would be a fool to spend 8k on a gp that needs a lim job. get to know any car very thoroughly before u buy it. If ur iffy about it or smething just doesn't feel right then don't buy it. Be patient. Good deals will come around

go here Used Cars - Edmunds.com and use the appraise car feature. It will give you the true MARKET value of whatever car it is you are looking for and is far more reliable than KBB

If it;s a private sale it depends on the condition of the car, the willingness of the seller to get rid of it, and if you are more mechanically inclined than the seller. If you know more about the car than he/she does then you can convince them about things that you will need to repair and bring the price down. I haggled mine down 1200 bucks, but after the work I put in it, I think I still overpaid
