    hey has anyone here ever swaped a 3800 series 2 engine with a 380 l32 supercharged engine and transmission? it has the pcm with it already. im looking to swap it with my 2001 grand prix gt 3800. wuld this work? what will i need?

    Search...its been done a thousand times
    04 comp G, front/rear towerbraces, pacesetters, ported sc, LIM, 3.3 pulley, 1.9 mod rockers, Ls1 springs and retainers, custom dyno tune, 180 tstat, shortned dog bones, full poly mounts, zzp shift kit, custom fwi, 28inch cherry bomb, flowmaster 40's. 290whp 380wtq before the button. coldfusion n2o, 60 shot. I haz corvette brakezand gxp cluster! smgpfc028

    i am and veryweres saying its just the same block jut drop it all in. but i dont know if ill need a new harness and if itll atach to the engine mounts and dog bones

    Its the same engine..mounts are the same. You need the l32 harness
    04 comp G, front/rear towerbraces, pacesetters, ported sc, LIM, 3.3 pulley, 1.9 mod rockers, Ls1 springs and retainers, custom dyno tune, 180 tstat, shortned dog bones, full poly mounts, zzp shift kit, custom fwi, 28inch cherry bomb, flowmaster 40's. 290whp 380wtq before the button. coldfusion n2o, 60 shot.     Why would you need the other harness?

    Everything should be the same minus injectors.

    and you dont need that huge TAC module connector, his vehicle is cable driven throttle.

    You'd need a different throttle body and adapter.

    thats about it.

    You need a few more things too. You need to use the L67 PCM, L67 bank 1 O2 sensor, L67 EVAP canister. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

    ww thats alot more then i thought. i might just get a l67 engine and tranny from 02 gp and drop them in my gp gt. i hear i dont need the riginal pcm for the enine im getting i can use any gp gtp pcm frm that year right?

    Quite a few people could mail order you a PCM... and going down to a junkyard would probably net you the correct PCM for $40, and you still have your spare NA one to hawk on ebay or something.

    Also, you can recycle the o2 sensor from your 01 and put it onto the 04 motor. All of the evap parts should work.

    i may not use the 04 engine now, i found a 02 gtp l67 engine but it dosnt come with the pcm. if i get a pcm from nother 02 gtp and use that will i be find or will i still need a tune? my cars a 01 gt

    need tune.

    GTP PCM has the trans tables for a 2.93 final drive.

    If you're using your GT trans it'll have 3.29 final drive.

    that needs to be correct.

    oh nah im getting a gtop tranny to and engine, just have to get the gtp pcm from another gtp.
