Thread: Anyone diagnose a left pull?

My grand prix has developed this hard left pull. I've dealt with this issue before on this car, but this time it's different.

If I make a left or right turn it constantly pulls to the left. Before I had a memory steer issue. I turn to the right it would go straight. Turn to the left it would pull left hard.

I got that fixed. Over the past couple of days this new pulling issue has gotten pretty bad. It takes quite a bit of strength to keep the car going straight.

This is the position my wheel needs to be in to keep the car going straight.




I've recently replaced tie rods, ball joints, spring plates, front struts, and calipers. I also replaced my front sway bar bushings, and control arm bushings. I had the car aligned after that and it was driving fine.

Now it's pulling again and I'm not sure what it is. Might be a bad belt in my left tire?

I'm at a loss. I've switched the tires and had no luck still pulls. It does take a lot of effort to keep it going straight. I don't really feel safe driving the car like this.

Did you replace the rubber brake hoses?

Just on the driver side front caliper because it was starting to dry rot.

The hose and caliper right? If you didn't do the hose, I could see that causing a pull.

I replaced both front calipers, but only the driver side hose. I could run out and replace the passenger side hose.

From a hose standpoint. The car would have to be pulling to the side with the bad hose. I wouldn't think a new hose is bad.

I'm at Belle tire now. They are checking the alignment. I'll have to see what they say.

If you switched tires and it still did it, its not the tire. If the alignment checks out, check the caliper slides, did you grease them at all?

If it happens under braking it might be the caliper on the left side. If it just tends to pull to the left under normal driving conditions then it more than likely has to do with the alignment.

I've switched the tires, didn't notice any difference. I checked for lose bolts in the front suspension. Everything checked out. Yesterday I took it up to a shop and they checked the aligment for me. They told me it was good. Everything was in spec.

It doesn't get anyworse under braking, it's a constant problem. I'll have to check the calipers and see if they are sticking.
