GTXs? Ive been looking all over the place and no luck at all. Anyone have any ideas besides ebay, autotrader, cars.com, and these message boards?

lol Grand Prix. So in your opinions should I jump on a silver GTX that doesn't have the GTX wheels missing a door badge and is silver ( i want red) or should I wait? I know its mostly appearance but I really like the look.

make sure it has the "modified by slp" sticker on the right door. Like Ray said its just appearance....stage 3s are rare as hell

For starters, make sure it's a GTP if that's what you're looking for. The GTX package was available on any trim level, including the 3100 SE believe it or not. The basic GTX comes with nothing more than a "ram air" hood with a hole cut out on top of the otherwise stock air intake box, and GTX door and trunk badges for $2k. Everything from there on out was extra, and most people didn't opt for it due to price. The wheels were the most common "above and beyond" item people bought.

    Jake would he sell it?
RareGMFan thanks for all the info. I didn't know they came on every trim level. All I really care about is getting a GTP/GTX don't care much about from there on. I would love to have the wheels and other stuff but judging from the sacristy I figure I can't be too picky. I had a 1999 GTP and loved it, can't wait to find a GTX. Anything else I should loook for besides the door sticker?

I know a guy in Sheboygan here who has a supercharged GTX, bright red, but he isn't selling it. I have seen him driving it a few times, his looks just like a loaded GTP..but it has the hood, roof rails, stuff like that. Make sure the silver car is actually the GTX you want. Color is a big thing, though you might not come across another in your area, really think about what you are actually buying.

Finding one with the wheels won't be TOO hard, but if it DOES come with the wheels, make sure you check the condition of the chrome on them. They're known for peeling just like most chrome GM wheels, though these are one of the worst. If it gets bad, or starts bubbling/peeling in the wrong spots (around the lip), it will make it difficult to get a good seal on the tire, thus causing a constant slow/not so slow leak. That's why as much as I like the GTX wheels, I avoid them when I see them for sale. I can't justify paying what people ask for a set of rims that is almost guaranteed to cause problems sooner or later.

I don't care where the GTX is Ill go pick it up or arrange to have it shipped to me (yeah I really want one lol). I have heard people saying that about those wheels and thats why the wheels are not a deal breaker for me, plus I line the stock 5 stars. I have a 2002 SS and one of my chrome rims started peeling, had to get it replaced. I don't think I will get the silver one then because I REALLY want red and from what I understand if I can just wait, I will stumble on one sooner or later.

PM John Oliver on Clubgp. He Has the nicest one I have ever seen online or in person. He has been getting more into his Firehawk over the years and brought up selling the GTX about a year and half ago. It's a Southern car no rust and garaged. Blue GTX, believe it's stage III

why dont you make a GTX out of a normal car. you can most definitely buy all of the stuff aftermarket and it won't cost you that much.

True that. Cuz that's in a sense what slp did. Used their aftermarket parts to make it more performance looking
