headers....stock exhaust is rated to 350whp. new mufflers, NOT FLOWMASTER!!!!! Magnaflow or borla mufflers are good. change out the resonator for a big fat glass pack.

A stock exhaust is about as high performance as you would ever need unless you were making a ton of power with a turbo setup.

Of unless you want to dump a ton of cash into a supercharged setup and run slower for more money.

EXCEPT... Headers. If you're modding, you'll want headers. The Catback is fine from the factory to around 350whp as the others have said.

Headers and put a cutout on there. Then you won't have to worry about those mufflers ever unless you put the cap on.

Lets be honest all aftermarket exhaust sounds like dog dick on all fwd 3800's. For example anyone ever heard Dave Norris's L67 Cutlass? That thing sounds bad assed!

False. My old exhaust setup sounded pretty good. TOG headers, 3 inch downpipe and full Borla catback.

Stick with solid headers, get a intake, a 3.4/3.5 pulley, and have someone tune it...

There is a thread for a smart way to mod these cars and if you do it right, for the price of all 4 of ^^^ you could go faster, instead of sounding fast and not going anywhere.

it is impossible to make a 3800 not sound like a trainwreck. Dont attempt it nor listen to people that think they sound good, because they dont.

To each their own, I like the sound of my car, specially now got the downpipe. my brother drives a 05 stang gt and even for a v8 guy he like the sound of my car.
video was before my downpipe. yes i know there is some rasp, their was also the back exhaust shield hitting the exhaust on revs higher the 2500-3000rpms. that is now fixed.
