This summer Advance Auto referred a couple guys to me as they were looking for click connection pieces for the radiator to stop a leak. "Hi, how are ya..there's a couple buckets of parts..enjoy."
A week ago the guy shows up with a for sale flyer to the car. Trans was shot afterall. Works only in manual 2 or 1. Looking to get his daughter a car to replace her GT but everything is expensive and she loves the Gt. "That's a fwd band, check JY's for a trans" gave him a price on the labor when he asked. I wasn't looking for the job.
Car is a 1998 GT
Saturday morning they drop off the car and trans. I'll be swapping the 4th clutch hub and pcs before the new (JY) trans goes in. Car is lowered, has loud exhaust and a GT with flames sticker on the side. Pop the hood and theres a metal UIM, TB adapter, strut tower bar with brackets, ZZP alt rewire, black valve covers, poly dog and front mounts, wrapped crossover pipe, and GMPP sways/struts/springs.
Called a local buddy who has been in the game forever. It's was Jonas's car. All suspension, intake etc. Cool. Swapped the trans and all went well.
Another GT saved from the crusher, another happy kid able to drive her GT again.
