I was thinking more along the lines of after market upgrades and work on the vehicle...

    tune up.

plugs, wires, clean the throttle body and maf, air filter, normal maintence.

and drive normally and do the speed limit on the freeway.

Watching your driving doesn't cost anything but perhaps a minute or two in increased travel times and nets the best improvements.

Well I've heard that cleaning the TB and maybe doing a SeaFoam treatment could help a little bit. Basically try to make the engine not work as hard. I might even try new plugs if the ones in there are due for a change. Sad part is what you spend in upgrades and work might end up costing you more money than just dealing with the mileage you have.

One thing you could do to "work on the vehicle" would be to reduce weight. Noticable gains? Probalby not, but if you're wanting every 100th of a MPG that you can get then it might be worth your time.

I think we can all agree that selling or trading your Grand Prix for a Geo Metro is the only way to truely get the BEST mileage increase.

If you insist on keeping your Grand Prix, Get a tornado for your intake and a chip off of ebay.

No sir. If you floor those you don't still get 60+mpg. You can floor that metro all day err day and get 60+.
