On the left is the original fluid siphoned from the reservoir, the middle is the fluid that came out of the return line on the last flush, and the right is a sample of whats in the reservoir after starting it and turning the wheel back and forth several times. Which is whats in there now. There's just a little bit on there, it's lighter than the middle fluid but not exactly like new but very close. I probably flushed 95% of the old stuff out using just over 2 quarts of new stuff.
    you really need a highfive.
because you put taking care of your car over everything else aka modding then fixing, props to you sir!

but i honestly really really should do that.
is there a 'how to' thread on that, here?
Jenny, The '99 Silvermist GTP. With the mod's that matter.
I would rather lose by a mile because I built my own car, than lose by an inch, because someone else built it for me. Your car is your story, so don't let someone else write the book.

Thanks. I don't believe so but I'm planning on writing a how-to for the 3800. Probably tomorrow. The fluid isn't actually black, its more of a very dark amber. The stuff is almost clear now.

And I agree about the maintenance. You see guys with all of these mods under the hood, but then you see their brake fluid reservoir, and the fluid in it is completely black. Maintenance comes first, then if you have any money left (lol) feel free to mod.

Today actually marks the day that every fluid has been changed in my car. (Engine oil, Coolant, Transmission fluid, Brake fluid, Power Steering). Coincidentally all of those fluids are by Valvoline except coolant because they don't make it.

Do you mean the power steering reservoir? If so, I think I was the one to tell you to check the level because overfilling will cause a leak. I remember that. There are marks on the cap/dipstick that need to be followed, I have seen people overfill and have those issues.

I reset my TPMS, because last time I set it I went backwards, so it was reading my left rear as my right front. I checked and set all my tire pressure. I went over the lug nuts to make sure they were all tight. I jacked the car up and went over the trans pan bolts to make sure they were tight since I just did a pan drop on Friday. I added a touch of trans fluid as it was right at the very bottom of the cross hatch. I checked the oil and with 4100 miles on the oil it is still dead center on the cross hatch.

Only thing I haven't checked today was the power steering, and the coolant. Will check coolant in the morning before I pull out for work. Will check power steering in the evening before I clean the car out and wash it. Should be all prepped for the trip to Norwalk. Will have 4 people (including myself) in the car and a trunk full of luggage. Have to find out if I should bring tools, just in case of a breakdown, or if my uncle is bringing his on the trailer he is hauling with tents, etc.

A power bleeder for the brakes is one of the best investments a person can make. Flushing made easy.

Installed a Double Din JVC NSX1 with mirrorlink for my S3 and something I've never seen before happened (and ive installed radios in dozens of 04+ prixs).

I have monsoon.. gm0S04 is required to turn the factory amp on.. I was planning on bypassing the factory amp with an Alpine ktp445 hideaway amp and put it in the same place so I wouldn't need data to turn it on.. Well I HAVE Audio and didn't use the interface.. Guess I won't have to spend the $90 on the KTP, the monsoon sounds great with an aftermarket unit. Must be an 04 thing because the monsoon definitely doesnt work on 05-08 without the os04..

I had the realization that all of the "little things" wrong with my car are going to equal lots of monies ..want to mod it, but I do not want to do so until it is in proper condition lol. Last week, my blower stopped working period, driving with no defrost in the rain is fun..my computer won't communicate with scanners/code readers, noticed when taking my car to the shop that when my hazards are on, my CJ2 unit flashes along with my hazards, plus door panels are crap lol. I am sure that there is more.

As far as what I did to it today, I drove it to the store and back and gave it hell to see if its really fixed lol.

Did this to the other car.

The plastic was faded horribly. So now it's dipped.
