lowering a 4x4 usually costs to much, and makes the truck just a car with a bed that cant haul what it should. for show is one thing, but trucks are meant to be used as trucks. the way i see it anyways.

I've had lowered, levelled, and lifted. It was fun then sold it and made my money back. Believe me I still towed with it that's why I had helper bags. It got better fuel mileage lowered
Edit, about $2500 into that setup. Same as you would spend to lift the same truck.

i spent about 230.00 on my lift. but then my truck came new sitting a bit higher then most 4x4's on the lot. may have been the snow plow prep package, and its a 2500 HD which may as well be a one ton. all heavy duty, locking rear, 4.10 gears, and a 6.0 engine, i used to tow my 4,000 lb boat every weekend, you didnt know it was back there. and it plowed snow like a beast.
That's the whole following i left. GMFS forum i have had 9 or so of the 99-02 GM Trucks and Suv's, That's another story i just grew bored and trade in haha. In my opinion Gm did right with the 99-06 full size.
I helped my buddy lower his 00 silverado and that cured me...I won't lower or lift for the reason of money time and the wife won't like it! Lol it looks cool just not what I want from my SUV
Finally replaced the leaking coolant elbow, did a complete tune up and cleaned the throttle body, it was nasty, lol...
Fixed the rubbing brake lines, then heard a rubbing or tire noise at speed with braking ... wub wub wub wub wub. Hmmmm Pulled tire to find a missing caliper bolt. Replaced, all good.
What if I got rid of my car for a '10 impala ltz, silver in color with black leather.....sooooo purdy!
This if course wouldn't happen till next winter or a year from now. Then I still have a hard time justifying a newer vehicle. But boyfriend wants me in something newer.

Dropped off my car for tint this morning. Too bad its sitting in the rain :(
Go for it Danielle...
sounds like a good deal Danielle. I want either a truck or a comp g or just some sort of dd so I can let my gtp rest. I'm attached to my gtp it ain't going no where.
I would take a 04+ Gp too, but there aren't many around here worth anything. And I figured if I'm going to spend the money, I want something newer, preferably 08+, and the imp ltzs are just sexy, esp the silver ones...tint the windows and bam. And I would get the decals to cover up the woodgrain dash parts because I dislike the woodgrain look.
I figured after selling my car, saving some cash and tax refund, I could have around $7k cash and get a loan for the other half.
Lees parents just bought a
'12 LT off lease fleet thing and it was in the $16s, but as base as they come. So I figured if I save my pennies really well, by this time next year I should be able to pick up a '10 or '11 for decent monies.
Yeah I don't want a car payment again but oh well.
Good thing is if I get the urge to, I can sell my car before I find something I really like and drive the G6 if its still around then.

My in laws just bought a 12 impala with 30k for $14k and it has a few options
You can buy my GTP for 7K. Then I can get my truck
I found a few ltzs with all the options I want, leather, sunroof, spoiler and preferably silver. It's between the imps or a trailblazer...but the more I look at the cars I like them more, esp if its loaded. And they'd get better gas mileage. The g6 has the 3500 and it always treated me well. I don't know much about the 3900 or whatever is in the newer cars.

3900 is an updated 3800, pushrod love...basically.
The impala is calling your name
Drove her in the rain. Saw my headlights in a window reflection. Loved it. Might snag a pic in the overcast with hids on
around here (detroit) you can find good 08 impalas for around 6-10k gently used, my opinion it would be better to just pay it off right away then you can tint do decals, my plan for awhile was to save up and get an 08 impala but then i saw a 04 GP before i could save up more money and I chose the GP lol im glad i did though, so far I like what ive done to it and i trust the 3.8 will last, and I used to own a 00 GT GP and that car did me good so ya im stuck on the newer grand prixs G6s or impalas
