A Supercharged 3.8L?????
Get to put my car on the lift today at work, either have a good exhaust leak that broke loose when I got on it this morning or something else happened. Either way its got a nice rasp under load and is alot louder than normal. Might be ordering headers soon depending on what the problem is. :th_scratchhead:
I put some fluids in her. Coolant and wiper. Yippee
Nearly done doing a complete tuneup which has turned into an all day project. The holdup?the 3 rear spark plug wires. They are difficult to get ahold of and not enough room to work.fml
if you slide the socket on the plug first, you then with a ratchet and a 3 inch extension, the extension will just catch the socket,( while resting on the o2 sensor) or use a swivel extension.
How does a socket help with getting the wires off???
I just grab at the base (make sure engine is COLD) and twist a couple times and they usually pop off easier... but then again sometimes they just fall apart and I go to Oreillys and get a whole new set, yay lifetime replacements!
i misread i guess lol twist and rip that crap off. skimming posts = bad me.
i like to wear leather gloves for this job. better grip and no fear of getting cut up when it pops off.
pulling the dog bones and pulling the engine forward does help with the room issue.
I attempted pulling the engine forward but my ratchet strap isnt functioning right.I have full access to #6 wire, got it loose but still not off yet. #2 will probably be the most difficult.Im hatin this, always at the very end theres a snag these boots are on very tight, damn.Ill keep trying.
If you have new wires then just rip the **** out of the ones on your car.
ive used channel lock pliers in the past.
Tires came in
Just picked up a mothers clay bar kit and meguiars best wax, bout to goto town.
