I posted a deal...
Then you ended up ignoring it and probably spent more on the one you just bought...
Just finished the trans fluid/filter/shift kit in the impala. Gonna go drive it in a bit and see how it shifts. Did it in half the time it took me the first time on my car.
Just finished updating the firmware and MCU on the head unit. I flashed a full format, so it was totally erased, and something must have been wrong before because holy **** does it sound better. It sounded good before, but never really sounded right. Now it does, that's for sure. I also finally was able to get Torque Pro to open on boot without slowing boot time, and with no prompts. Oh and I'm re-downloading Sygic with 5GB of GPS maps, all of North America. If I could only find a way to overclock it...lol.
Drove it reliably for like the 30th consecutive day since I got it...because not a W-body. :p
These things are a strange animal, since Android isn't in control, the MCU is. Well kinda, the MCU gives Android control over a lot of it. The MCU has final say. I've tried SetCPU and Overclocked Advanced and they didn't work. SetCPU requires a kernel to support it though, so I didn't really expect it to work.
Oh yea, I was able to get Milkdrop set up...so I can have Winamp Visuals. They even have an option for "I like Shrooms" to make the visuals more trippy, lol.
Lmao,
That is a strange animal for sure. I've been out of the Android rooting and all that jazz for a while so i would be no help.

Night/day difference on the impala. No more slow shifts and the downshifts are majorly improved. Still not quite as firm as mime for some reason, I'll let taps run its course.
Didn't you put in a new PCS on your car? That probably helped
Yes I did, that may be part of it. The impala is the newer design(03+) but still prone to issues I guess.
The weirdest thing I've had to do is run 2 IR receivers for the steering wheel controls. I have the SWI-X, which basically makes the steering wheel controls a programmable universal remote. I had to get a USB IR receiver for the Android functions, then use the built in IR receiver for volume control. I ran the USB IR receiver up next to the built in IR receiver, then put the SWI-X emitter pointed at both, and then used 2 remotes to program the SWI-X. It works great now, but figuring it out was fun and made me want to slap the Chinese guy that developed this thing.
Ahh all this nerd talk!!
Beer o'clock time!
That last bit make me laugh wayyyy too hard, and that seems way overly complicated.

the newer the 3800 car the longer the trans relearn time. a hard reset will let it relearn your drivers habits faster but it can still take 150+ miles.
i wish it was more like the 96-99's with the quick and dirty trans adaptives (less NVH bull**** that was integreated into the EOBD2 for 00+
