I think I need to do that with mine. My driver's side works, but not as well as the passenger side.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
I did a spark plugs and wires today, it was a pain in the ass to get the old wires out.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
I installed Roof Rails which was a HUGE pain in the ass. I couldnt get them to stick down to save my life. I was using 3m super bond adhesive stage2 as well. I finally just ended up using heavy duty clamps from the inside of the door to the rail. 1 hour hold each. Oh i also taped off my rear bumper and painted the valance dark black, and then when i got down with that i painted the fascia on the front with black. In the meantime i also tinted my tails with nightshades :) Glad today is over!!
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Finally solved the cutout under load issue, bad coilpack. Wasnt missinf at idle....

Re: What did you do to your Car today?

So either get a 5" backing pad, or take a razor blade n cut an inch or so off the outside of the velcro. It digs into the pad if you're applying a little pressure n bites into the pads n destroys them quicker.
Good point. I would just get a better backing plate. Let us know how those pads works out for you. I heard they aren't the best.

I may or may not grab some from there, I haven't yet. I seen you use the lake country pads n was gonna order those off ebay probably. There's 6 pack deals on there n it's not quite warm enough to be doing that all yet where I'm at, so I'm in no rush.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
i ve heard nothing good about the HF buffing pads. but they are cheap and should get me though a job till i get some lake county pads ordered up.

I got the HF rotary style buffer. The foam pad that came with it (white) is a bit coarse but it works well enough to get rid of those last swirl marks. Speed is key with heat-activated polish. Bought a white wool pad for compounding and so far haven't run into anything I couldn't handle with just those. The backing pad and the buffer itself are pretty darn good on that one and its forty bucks now (drill master). I never had any luck with an orbital but my purpose for purchasing was to buff fresh paint after fine sanding.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
the thing about the da orbital is a rookie can safely wax their car and get a professional finish with the worry of damaging the paint.
as you know you sit in one spot to long with a rotary and hey look,,,, is that metal? lol

Thats very true, speed kills. Rotary buffers and wool pads and heavy cut compounds require more finesse. I would hate to take out sandscratches with an orbital. I got lucky today when I debadged my trunk lid, elbow grease and a little polish on a towel got it done.

If you wax by hand and get the pad deal, you would probably want 3 orange and 3 white.

* speed and heat kills pads

Sitting up there is the best seats IMO, seeing the whole rink is what I like. I prefer to sit on the sides, on which the home team will score twice upon.

Neither, my dad is a studio engineer with another degree in electronics so I've always upgraded the audio portion of whatever I have, lol. I grew up doing this kind of stuff so it's second nature to me.
