Check for vacuum leaks first. Check that it actually spring closes all the way.
It will not close with car in park and you rev it up. The car should not make boost in park.

mine moves when i rev the engine in park.
My car does not make boost in park.
My car does... But it dumps it almost right away.
i never looked to see if it makes boost, but that lever most certainly moves in park when the engine is revved.
Is there anything else I can use besides carb cleaner to check the vac lines? And how can I tell the bbv is closing?
running the lever sits one way. car off the other.
for vac leaks, starting fluid works, and so does propane gas. brake cleaner is said to work but i dont like to use it. it dont spray like a mist.
Thanks for the advise. Been searching on Google too and got an idea what to look for tomorow.

For the Cap'n...
As to me, I drove all around town today and then down to Kentucky and back. Did a couple good 2nd gear pulls with zero KR. I feel like a million bucks. As soon as I fix the exhaust manifold/downpipe exhaust leak with a new gasket, I'm pulleying down.
I don't need any freakin transmission parts lol. I have 97k on mine.. You have 213k on yours. I'd be buying trans parts for myself if I were you. And you're welcome for fixing your car :) Now get some rockers lol.
Im going to be throwing a HV3 and a zzp PCM in my car next week. Parts should get here Monday!
Got that fricken p0420 code for my downpipe. I dodged it for like 2 weeks and idk why the eff it showed up now. I thought I got lucky but I'm peeved about it
Cause I bet you didn't take my advice and throw a fouler in
I have the built in fouler and P0420 randomly showed up twice since I got the downpipe. I reset it both times and its been a long time since it has come on.
I had a gutted cat and it would only throw the code every couple of weeks or so
I solved that by just tuning that hippie crap out.
I have the fouler stuff. I just wanted to try it without because with the fouler it's gonna stick out like a sore thumb for PA inspection. I'll have to install it this coming weekend. I go back to school today. I put ant sieze on all the threads on every bolt so it should be easy
Stealthee what does yours look like? And iceman I plan on tuning before inspection is up in august
Oklahoma had vehicle inspections along time ago. But people got fed up and voted them out
