Re: What did you do to your Car today?
I drove through a bunch of wet leaves. Didn't wreck my car.

Yes I know. At least the two possible problems I have already ordered upgrades for em. Kinda excited to make coil covers and get my new LCAs and gmpp sway bar
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Nah I would bet strut mounts need it. With your mileage on a fwd car they wear pretty fast

Good, we don't need another hippo.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
I got the new endlinks on and picked up my new axle and axle seal. I'm pretty sure that my starter is going out so that will probably be getting swapped out as well tomorrow.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Well, turns out the power steering issue was due to the fact that my power steering rack was not bolted to the subframe whatsoever (thank you previous owners), so today i bolted in my rack! Crazy thing, cars drive alotttt better with the rack bolted down
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
By not bolted in, you mean the nut was loose right? If the two bolts weren't there at all, turning would force it on one direction and snap things for sure. Like the ISS
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Yeah, it was on the last couple threads. It was making some horrendous noise
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Threw a hybrid canned tune in a guy's car made $50
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Was told my lower control arm bushings are shot, while having cv shafts changed... question - can i just replace the bushings or do the arms need changed too?

Just replace the bushings. unless the control arm is rusted to the point where the bushings don't fit snug into the control arm. otherwise theyll pop out. Most likely you'll just have to replace the bushings. theyre like $15 a piece i believe.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Just replace the whole lca your ball joints are probably bad too.

I didn't even look to see if they were rusted. i'm back to just wanting to drop a match in the gas tank, between the rust and suspension issues.
Re: What did you do to your Car today?
Everything is suPer easy to do on these cars just keep it

Let me guess, you took it in somewhere and they did an inspection, and gave you a list of a ton of things that they say needs to b replaced, right? Been there, done that. Only a few things really needed replacement out of them. The rest were just from the books what should be done at a certain mileage, and were still fine. Suspension is easy on GP's, and prices online are very inexpensive comparing to many other cars.

I feel your pain. i have 5g of maintenance into a car worth nothing lol consistently one thing a week.
But personally i dont believe the bushings are something you need to rush to get done, theyre not going anywhere. mine have been popped out for months. out of sight, out of mind. the creeking sound is kind of annoying though...

buy new lca's, they run 40 bucks a side, (dorman) no drilling the ball joint out, no fighting with the bushings. easy peasy

I think this is the route I'm going to take. The boyfriend is working at Advance right now, so I'll use his discount and save myself a little money. By the time I'm done, if I can get the rust on the door taken care of, it'll be good as new.

No, a friend of mine is a mechanic at a ford dealer, he warned me about it while doing the cv shafts. I don't bother taking it to shops unless it's just absolutely something I know I don't want to deal with.
