Pretty big transition as far as gas consumption between the old GT and this GTP i got now.Stepping on it burns alot more gas in this car compared to N/A with full bolt ons. Im thinkin i may need a tune up and a thing or two repaired fueling wise. Most i got so far was 348 miles on full tank with 30/70 highway/city driving.

    no?

N/A doesn't require as much fuel as boost.

Makes you wonder who they're building these "fuel efficient" smaller turbo engines for. EPA? Because no one drives like they do.

Yea i see why everybody says "stay out of boost" when saving gas.Its sooo hard but when im cruising that needle dosent move much.Guess my right foot needs a chill pill.

Im getting ~21. i drive 15 mins to work every day probably 80% highway but there are stoplights and a few stop signs along the way. Best highway ive gotten was 32 going 65. In winter i usually get around 19.

I was curious about the MPG on the 02' GT I just bought. Maybe it needs a tune-up. I have had it 1 week now and when I brought it home the display was showing 12mpg. The next day it was up to 13. Last night when I got home it was up to 14.5. I have only driven it to work and back which is 14 miles round trip and on a parkway at 50mph. So I guess my question is: Does the onscreen display immediately change when you drive, or does it take some time to calibrate itself to how a person is driving? I'm an "easy" driver, not hard on the gas or driving over the limit. The kid I bought it from I'm sure had a heavy foot and wasn't worried about getting good mileage. Even though the car seems to run nicely, I'm going to tune it up and run a can of Seafoam through the tank just so I can start my own maintenance log. I just expected the mileage to be closer to what the factory specs says, so I was surprised to only see 13's and 14's on the screen.

    The display shows average MPG.

Push and hold the reset button while the display is on MPG to zero it.

Oh Okay, thanks very much. I'm still learning about this car. It came without a manual and my last car was an 86' Olds Cutlass so I have sort of come from the "Stone Age" and into the "Future". I have to get used to all these computerized things in the car. Thanks again.

I reset the mileage computer and took her for a 25 mile ride. With the cruise control locked in at 55mph I was amazed at the mileage! My Olds Cutlass was lucky to get 17mpg. I'm very happy with the new car and the mileage. Fewer stops for gas in my future!

The dic isn't super accurate. Best to figure it up with miles divided by how many gallons it takes to fill it up.

I have put almost 60,000 miles on mine and since the day I got it at 75,000 miles I have found it can range from 14mpg to 31 without doing a damn thing to it. I figure the mileage at most fuel ups while I am waiting. The biggest factor for me is winter or summer, a/c on or off, and speed. I think mine drops from 30ish cruise set at 60 to 22mpg cruise set at 70, and keeps going down with speed. In winter, I let it idle alot to warm up dropping mileage.
