I've always been interested in functional aero mods what would help with mileage. Does this keep the air flowing past the wheel and not into the well? Getting rid of the low pressure? What about the front?

I've been wanting to get mud flaps so I'm sure they'll do the same thing.

Heh, I should have left more in the picture, I guess. This is in the wheel well towards the front of the car, and the body part pictured there is the bumper (this isn't on the side of the wheel well a mudflap goes on). The air that flows along the side of the bumper would normally flow into the tire tread/wheel well, but it hits this immediately instead. I don't know if the air mostly goes up and over or off to the side, but either way would be beneficial at highway speeds.

I Gotchya, that flap you made probably keeps the air from hitting the back of the wheel well thus reducing drag. Where'd you get the idea from?

Well, I was watching a video about the physics of Formula 1 cars, and it pointed out that a major drawback in their design is the open wheels create a lot of drag (when moving at 100 MPH, the top of the wheel is moving 200 MPH). Remembering that my car had some tire showing, and that there were bolts on the back of the bumper, I figured the easiest way to keep air away from the tire would be to just stick a piece of metal in the way.

The location of the bolts limited how far down the bumper it could go (the further way from the solid point the metal gets, the more leverage the wind has on it to bend it) and how far it could stick out.

It also has the added benefit of making the edge of my bumper more rigid, which helps my Duraflex bumper more than an OEM one.

I'll see what I can do. I might be able to take them off my car, outline them on paper, and upload a scan of that, but there might be scaling issues with that.

The only difficult part is putting the holes in the right place, since they're staggered a bit, on a round surface, and you can't just lay it on top of the bolts and eyeball it.

I'd imagine that if aluminum sheets are cheap at that thickness, I could easily make exact copies and sell them quite cheaply, but I'll try to get some instructions together since that sounds like less work at the moment.

If you trace in the holes, or if you cant trace them and just fill it with big black splotches, shouldnt that work?

Also, scaling shouldnt be an issue if the size is less than 8.5x11. While it may look different on screens, pixels and pixels and inches are inches. As long as it's not modified it should print back out at 8.5x11

Are you on the held coils? About how low are you or like about how much wheel gap is there?

It looks really good! I think im about the same wheel gap. I've been looking pretty hard for some wheels lately and idk if its just the black colored bullitts, but the pictures make them seem a little small? I was thinking about picking some up from craigslist or i was really thinking about trying to make some 03 cobra rims fit and they're 17's also. In your opinion, do they look small in person or would you maybe be happier with 18's? Either way your car looks awesome
