yeah, it's the right size, but i meant that most people don't carry this manufacture. Plus these are some really good lugs, AutoZone ones are like $20 or something, I spent the extra $$ on these cause they are better quality and they have a locked lug for each wheel.
FYI, I sell and stock those at my parts store.
That alone automatically makes them cheap.
Combine that with people coming in looking for new keys... Gotta be careful to never over-torque.
I guess some places do and some don't, none of the parts stores near me carried them so I had to order them online through Amazon and cross my fingers hoping they were the right ones. Turns out they are.
Anytime I have a place rotate my tires or something I tell them to hand torque the locking lug, the others can take the impact wrench, though I think the directions say for hand tighten/removal only, but fat chance of any mechanic doing that.
I like the key for these though, instead of a key that just fits ontop, it actually fits over the lug nut and the matching pattern is at the end of the socket. I had a key for another lug set on a Dodge Intrepid that just fit right ontop, and was much more difficult to use than this sliding over socket type key.
If the store is small enough, they might not have anything really. I know we don't carry any parts for mini coopers but i'd bet there are some stores that do.
Rotating your tires yourself is pretty easy. :th_thumbsup-wink:
Most of the people that come to me are DIY'ers.
Easy yes, but when I have free oil changes for the life of the vehicle from the dealership, and sometimes get free tire rotations or a tire rotation for $20 that includes a vehicle inspection, there isn't much of a reason to do it myself. Also, the tires were bought at the dealership and they have a warranty, the best way to keep that warranty is for them to rotate the tires, otherwise they would say "did you rotate the tires often enough? we haven't had you rotate your tires here for a long time"
My family is DIY'ers on anything for the house from bathroom additions, fixing roof, tiling, remodeling and painting, Building entertainment centers, carpentry and basically anything for the house, eletrical, yard, inside, we do it.
Vehicles, we do minor things (air intakes, cleaning, tire pressure, cosmetics stuff and such) but prefer to have a mechanic or dealership(depending on if the car is brand new or was bought used) take the responsibility of the harder projects being done correctly.
Wow, do you know someone there or what? :p
get oil changes for free as part of the package of buying a vehicle from the dealership. Tire rotations don't cost very much to begin with.
matt - where/what is your store?

im sorry man but you car could not possibly be any more boring... no inlays or anything!?
Not sure who you were responding to, but in general, everyone doesn't want a car that stands out and paints them as a cop target. Also, the more unique your car is, the more idiots are bound to want to mess it up, especially if there are a few people who aren't exactly your friends, makes it much easier for them to find your car.
