Hi everyone. new to this site, and new to drive GTP. I bought my car just over two months ago, and got off of the old pulley belt. There was PK1685 belt on it,And i got my hand only PK1700... And i did maybe accidently move the charger pulley a bit with hand, before assembling new belt. It has a ZZP 3.5 pulley, cold air. and i Dont know what ther has be done else. but before chancing the, it shoot out like a loonatic from barn.. Now it feels a little lasy when stepping throttle..? Question is: Did i move something when i put new belt, is there some position that it needs to be ? ( When belt is out). And how i know it where is that..? Is my belt too long? Now there is rattling noise coming. And when i put fingers on near pulley on idle, it feels more on pulley side.. Car is located in Finland. Imported 2002. Now 180tmiles on it. But have been treated well. (sorry my bad writing, but i hope that someone gets sense of it) Thank you for helping out. - Jarkko -

    Welcome to the site!

I would verify it is tuned to support the 3.5 pulley before beating on it or you're just asking to replace the engine. These cars have "spark knock" or KR from factory and dropping to a 3.5 doesn't help and can actually chip the piston ring lands. You need a way to scan for KR to see what it's doing.

Moving the supercharger by hand isn't going to hurt it. What I would check is to see if the coupler is good on it. If you remove the belt again, grab the supercharger pulley and turn it back and forth quickly and see if you feel/hear any play in it. They can also sound like tumbling rocks when they go bad while running. If you find it's bad get a new GM one or one from ZZP.

You would have to check the length of those 2 belts. Maybe the PK1700 is too long for the 3.5 and is made for the stock 3.8 pulley and might be slipping.
