I'm replacing L hoses after fluid leakage for 1st time. I purchase the aluminum ones pretty advice of the few however the top L hose does not seat all the way in ... ?? I already got Finance issues going right now and I unexpectedly miss work today ... ? I have to get this car going ... dad really needs it right now. Can anyone elaborate on the top L hose being naturally loose I'm pretty sure I removed all the old plastic and junk. The orange ring doesn't even seem to properly sit all the way in. Is this supposed to be.

Best advice I can give you
    How to change coolant elbows

They should actually be loose. But as you tighten that alternator bracket, you gotta make sure they stay at 90 degrees to the bracket/manifold.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Make sure you lube them with some Vaseline or something.
